HDI Global SE Interview with Dron Kyle
This is a case study from a pioneering value-driven insurance solution provider called HDI Global SE.
Praiso sat down with Dron Kyle, Motor Risk Engineer for HDI Global to discuss their partnership and to see what benefits they and their customers are receiving from such a collaboration.
What is the HDI philosophy when it comes to working with your partners? “Our philosophy when it comes to working with partners is to ensure the mutual client is the one that gets the reward from such a collaboration. In order to deliver this, HDI works with their partners to produce a mutually beneficial strategy in which the client will ultimately benefit.”
How does this interlink with the service you provide for your customers? “Here at HDI Motor UK, we provide a very distinctive approach when working with our clients. HDI take on highly experienced risk engineers who are able to understand the client’s unique business and claims circumstances. Collaborating with the client’s technology providers is essential in assisting the client in understanding how these technologies will further improve on their overall claims experience.”
How has partnering with Praiso helped you overcome challenges and provide solutions for your customers? “Throughout my experience working in the transport industry and telematics sector, I’ve learned the most important thing when seeking to improve driver behaviour; wasn’t just about the technology, it was the driver engagement. And I use this word every day, engagement. If an organisation can win the hearts and minds of the drivers with a well-delivered driver behaviour strategy, they are more likely to succeed in delivering much safer driving standards and practices. Praiso help deliver this with a system that deals with driver engagement at the heart of their product.”
Praiso’s technology solution has been proven to reduce the number of insurance claims through improved driver safety and real-time risk profiling for insurers and their customers. What impact does Praiso’s proposition have on the cost of premiums for your customers? “Ultimately, through good driver engagement and focused driver interventions which target specific driver behaviours such as speeding, harsh braking, distance awareness etc. Praiso works with the client in improving overall driver behaviour. This, ultimately, may result in seeing premiums reduce moving forward as opposed to increasing year on year.”
And lastly, what does the future of motor risk insurance look like? “To answer this, truly I need a crystal ball. However, technologies are continually improving, and fast. Drivers are becoming more connected with their vehicles and safety features are improving year on year. Artificial intelligence and machine vision learning are now coming into play within vehicles, as well as autonomous driving with automatic braking and collision warning systems. I can say that I have no doubt that through this advancing technology our roads will become safer moving forward. Which hopefully means far less incidents.”
